Who We Are (Jacked Mix)

“Who We Are (Jacked Mix)” was released by The Smen in June 2018 on Defected, marking the studio return of Roger Sanchez, Carlos Sosa and Junior Sanchez under the alias. The track was produced by The Smen at Indeep Studios in Ibiza and mixed at Earthworks Studios in the UK. The single was The Smen’s second production after their 1997 debut “Back,” reuniting three long-established house producers for a Defected release. Its release copy framed it as a high-energy return built around strings, soulful vocals, guitar riffs and a jacked-up beat. “Who We Are (Jacked Mix)” remains documented as the modern revival release for The Smen alias after a two-decade gap. It is preserved through Defected’s digital catalogue as a late-2010s collaboration between Roger Sanchez, DJ Sneak and Junior Sanchez.
