Recording

Recorded by Detroit vocal trio Coffee during sessions for their second album Slippin' and Dippin', with production led by Dennis Coffey. The recording featured the group's harmony-driven vocal style alongside Coffey's polished dance-floor arrangements. Released at the height of the post-disco transition, the single became one of Coffee's best-known recordings and a favourite among club DJs. Its combination of female vocal harmonies and boogie-funk production helped it stand out in the early 1980s dance market. The track became a sought-after boogie and modern soul classic, remaining popular with collectors, disco revival DJs and rare-groove enthusiasts. It is regularly cited as one of the defining recordings in Coffee's catalogue.
