If You Want Me

Hinda Hicks recorded 'If You Want Me' with producers Jazz Black and Tommy Faragher for On Point/Rhythm Within Productions at Unique Recording Studios, with Hicks co-writing the track alongside Tommy Faragher, L. Golden, and S. Oluwa. Released in February 1998 on Island Records, 'If You Want Me' reached number 25 on the UK Singles Chart and gave Hicks her first Top 40 entry, establishing her as one of the leading voices in the late-1990s British R&B scene following high-profile support slots with Boyzone and 911. The track introduced Hicks to a mainstream UK audience and set up a run of four further Top 40 singles and a debut album Hinda that charted at number 20, earning her three MOBO Award nominations and Brit Award nominations for Best British Female and Best British Newcomer in 1999.
