Where Love Lives
Alison Limerick · 1990Alison Limerick recorded the song as her solo debut after signing to Arista in 1990. It was written and produced by Lati Kronlund, who chose Limerick for her two-octave range and met her after hearing her sing in London; the song later became identified with the Frankie Knuckles and David Morales remix campaign that followed. The track launched Limerick’s solo career and gave British house a major club anthem at the start of the 1990s. It was a key early Arista dance release and was later recognized by the BBC Radio 2 dance-record poll as one of the era’s defining records. Where Love Lives remained a durable club record through successive reissues and remixes, including a 1996 revival that took it into the UK Top 10 and renewed its presence on dance floors. It has continued to be cited as a house classic and covered or referenced in later projects, including Brooklyn Funk Essentials’ later reworking.
