I Like What You're Doin' to Me

Young & Co. recorded I Like What You're Doin' to Me as an independent New Jersey club single before the group's Brunswick album period. The record was written by Buddy Hankerson, Michael Young and William Young, produced by Young & Young, and arranged by Bob Miller and Frank Dickerson. The single helped the group secure a Brunswick deal after strong club and sales response. It reached number 20 on the UK Official Singles Chart in 1980 while remaining outside the main US pop and R&B charts. The record remains Young & Co.'s signature club track and a durable early-1980s dance-floor favourite. Its later visibility includes Joya's 1994 cover version and documented sampling in hip-hop and R&B records.
