Get Off The Streets

Eric and the Vikings · 1970
Recording

Released in 1970 as Get Off the Streets Y’all, the instrumental was written by Richard “Popcorn” Wylie and Charles Johnson and produced by Wylie for his Detroit label Soulhawk. The track appeared on the reverse of Vibrations (Made Us Fall in Love), the group's debut single, placing it within Detroit's independent recording scene. RJD2 included the recording in Your Face or Your Kneecaps. Its congas, sharp piano accents and rhythmic guitar also earned retrospective praise from music writer Oliver Wang.
