Never Let ’em Say

Never Let ’em Say

Ballin’ Jack · 1970
Recording

Recorded in 1970 by Seattle-based rock-funk group Ballin' Jack for their self-titled debut album. The track featured the band's blend of hard rock guitar, soul vocals and emerging funk rhythms under the direction of producer Glen E. Fried. The song showcased the group's distinctive fusion of rock and funk at a time when artists were increasingly crossing stylistic boundaries. Although not a commercial hit, it became one of the standout deep cuts from the album among collectors. Never Let 'Em Say later gained recognition through hip-hop sampling culture and rare-groove DJ sets. Its heavy drums, guitar work and soulful vocal passages helped make it a sought-after crate-digging discovery.
