I Think I'm In Love

Recorded during the 1995–1997 sessions for Spiritualized's third album, Ladies and Gentlemen We Are Floating in Space, under the direction of Jason Pierce, with John Coxon, Sean Cook, Kate Radley and other band members contributing. The album sessions began at Moles Studio in Bath and continued across studios in London and the United States, with engineers including Trevor Curwen and Darren Allison. Originally released on the acclaimed 1997 album and issued as a UK single in February 1998, the track became one of Spiritualized's defining recordings. Its extended, hypnotic arrangement and conversational lyrics contrasting romantic devotion with drug references captured the emotional contradictions central to Jason Pierce's songwriting, while the single reached number 27 on the UK Singles Chart. The track remains a cornerstone of Spiritualized's catalogue and a defining example of the ambitious production and emotionally exposed songwriting of Ladies and Gentlemen We Are Floating in Space. Its enduring reputation has been reinforced by the album's critical standing and a prominent remix by the Chemical Brothers, included on the 1998 single.
