Six Days
DJ Shadow · 2002Recorded for DJ Shadow's second album The Private Press, “Six Days” was produced and arranged by Josh Davis at The Parlor of Mystery. The track is built around vocals from Colonel Bagshot's “Six Day War” and guitar material from Dennis Olivieri's “I Cry in the Morning,” with Brian Farrell, Dennis Olivieri and Davis credited as writers. Released as a 2002 single from The Private Press, “Six Days” reached number 28 on the UK Official Singles Chart and number 1 on Billboard's Dance/Electronic Singles Sales chart. Its Wong Kar-wai-directed video, shot by Christopher Doyle, gave the single a strong visual identity beyond DJ Shadow's core audience. The song became one of DJ Shadow's most widely recognized post-Endtroducing recordings. A Mos Def remix later reached a wider film audience through Phone Booth and The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift.
