Hey Boy Hey Girl

Hey Boy Hey Girl

The Chemical Brothers · 1999
Recording

It was recorded at Orinoco Studios in South London during the Surrender sessions, with Tom Rowlands and Ed Simons producing their own track. The original release credits also list Steve Dub on engineering, Cheeky Paul on editing, and Mike Marsh on mastering. It was the first single from Surrender and marked a polished, club-focused peak for the Chemical Brothers at the height of late-1990s UK electronic music. The song reached No. 3 on the UK Singles Chart and stayed on the chart for 10 weeks. It became one of the duo’s signature tracks and remained a staple of their live sets and compilation releases. Its hook and production kept it in circulation through later reissues, remixes, and dance-floor revival use.
