Woo Hah!! Got You All in Check

It was recorded and mixed at The Music Palace in West Hempstead, New York, with Busta Rhymes and Rashad Smith credited as producers; Rick St. Hillaire handled engineering and mixing, with Vinny Nicoletti as assistant engineer. Rampage contributed vocals on the release. Released as the lead single from The Coming, it served as Busta Rhymes’s solo breakthrough and became one of 1996’s most recognizable rap singles. It reached the top 10 in the United States and the United Kingdom, helping establish his off-kilter voice and larger-than-life persona on mainstream radio. The track remains one of Busta Rhymes’s signature records and is still used as a reference point for his early solo style. Apple Music’s album notes explicitly connect the album’s manic energy to later artists such as Ludacris and Tyler, The Creator, reflecting the song’s long afterlife in rap performance style.
