Odyssey recorded and mixed the track at Atlantic Recording Studios in New York City for the Happy Together sessions, with Jimmy Douglass producing and engineering for Evening Lady Productions. Released in 1982 on RCA, the single became Odyssey’s second-highest-charting UK hit and reached No. 3 on the Official Singles Chart. It also drew notice as one of the group’s strongest late-period singles and ranked on NME’s 1982 year-end tracks list. The song remained in circulation through later dance and soul revivals, including Electribe 101’s 1990 cover. Its UK chart success kept it as one of Odyssey’s best-remembered post-disco records.
