Digeridoo

Aphex Twin released Digeridoo as a 1992 EP on R&S Records, with a UK issue through Outer Rhythm. The title track was written and produced by Richard D. James and had first appeared as Aboriginal Mix on Analogue Bubblebath Vol 2. The single became Aphex Twin's first UK Official Singles Chart entry, reaching number 55 in May 1992. Its synthetic didgeridoo effect and high-pressure rave structure helped establish Richard D. James as a distinctive figure in early 1990s electronic music. Digeridoo remains one of Aphex Twin's essential early tracks and a fixture of his Classics-era catalogue. Its 2024 expanded edition renewed attention on the track and its early Cornwall rave origins.
