Rock The Funky Remix

Recorded by Natural Born Chillers, the London duo of Lee Parker and Arif Salih, with the original version built around samples from Public Enemy, Funky 4 + 1, and Bobby Byrd. The original single release also carried 187 Lockdown and Urban Takeover remixes, with John Gould credited as mixer on the dub version. Released in 1997 on EastWest, the track became a UK club record and reached No. 30 on the Official Singles Chart while topping the UK Dance Singles Chart. It helped establish Natural Born Chillers in the jungle and breakbeat crossover scene. The track is remembered as a late-1990s UK dance classic and continued to circulate through compilations, DJ sets, and later remixes. Its sampling of Public Enemy and funk sources kept it active in breakbeat and jungle culture long after release.
