Stop
B.W.H. · 1983Recording
B.W.H. recorded "Stop" in Rome in 1983 at Concorde Two Studio. The track was developed by Stefano Zito with Stefano Galante and issued on the House of Music label. "Stop" appeared as the B-side of the pair of Italo-disco tracks that became one of House of Music’s best-known releases. It has been repeatedly cited as a standout early-1980s Italo-disco recording and as a key example of the style’s cosmic, synth-driven sound. The song remained a reference point for later Italo-disco reissues, mixes, and retrospective writing, and it has been sampled and discussed as an influential precursor to later electronic-dance forms. Its reputation has grown beyond the original release, where it is now treated as one of the essential B.W.H. cuts.
