Recording

Issued in 1983 as a 12-inch single on D.E.T.T. by Trouble Funk under the Tilt alias. The original release credits Tilt with mixing, Trouble Funk with production, and Frankford/Wayne Recording Labs with mastering. The track presented Trouble Funk’s go-go sound in an arcade-themed electro setting and was part of the label strategy the group used during a difficult contractual period. It became a distinctive D.C. club record and a memorable early-1980s novelty-turned-dance-floor piece. The record remains a cult favorite for its blend of go-go bounce, electro textures, and video-game imagery. It continues to circulate through reissues, DJ culture, and later compilation appearances as a snapshot of Washington, D.C.’s early-1980s scene.
