On On On On...
Tom Tom Club · 1981"On, On, On, On..." was recorded in 1981 at Compass Point Studios in Nassau during sessions for Tom Tom Club's debut album. Tina Weymouth and Chris Frantz produced with engineer Steven Stanley, with Adrian Belew and Monte Brown on guitar, Tyrone Downie on keyboards and Uziah Thompson on percussion. The track formed part of Tom Tom Club's first album, created after Weymouth and Frantz stepped outside Talking Heads to pursue their own project. Its rhythm-led arrangement reflected the Caribbean and dance-music influences central to the Compass Point sessions. The song remained part of the group's debut-album catalogue through subsequent reissues, and a remix version was included on the 2009 deluxe edition. The parent album became an influential early-1980s meeting point between post-punk, club music and emerging hip-hop culture.
