Rinse & Repeat (feat. Kah-Lo)
Riton · 2015Produced by Newcastle-born, London-based Henry Smithson (Riton) with vocals from Lagos and New York-based Nigerian singer-songwriter Faridah Seriki (Kah-Lo), the track originally surfaced with underground attention at the end of 2015 before being newly mixed and mastered for official release on Riton's own Riton Time label in February 2016. The track entered the UK Singles Chart at number thirteen and reached number one on the BBC Radio 1 Dance Chart for several weeks, earning a nomination for Best Dance Recording at the 2017 Grammy Awards. Hyperactive described it as pumping afterhours acid house married to a defiantly hedonistic club mantra, with remixes from Alex Metric and Busy P and Boston Bun extending its club reach. The track launched the Riton and Kah-Lo partnership that produced the 2018 collaborative album Foreign Ororo and a string of further singles including "Fake ID," "Ginger," and "Up and Down," establishing the pair as one of the most distinctive producer-vocalist combinations in UK dance music and opening the door to Riton's subsequent mainstream hits including "Friday" with Nightcrawlers.
