What's Luv

Recorded at The Crackhouse Studios in New York City. The single paired Fat Joe with Ashanti and was produced by Irv Gotti and Chink Santana for Terror Squad Entertainment and Atlantic Records. Released in 2002 as the second single from Jealous Ones Still Envy (J.O.S.E.), it became Fat Joe’s highest-charting solo single and one of Ashanti’s early breakthrough collaborations. It reached No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 and spent 20 weeks on the chart. The song endures as one of Fat Joe’s signature records and a defining early-2000s crossover hit for Ashanti. Its hook and structure kept it in circulation through later references and samples, while its commercial success cemented it as a major mainstream collaboration of the era.
