It's A Desperate Situation

It was recorded at Hitsville-GW in Detroit and completed on September 20, 1968, with Jimmy Ruffin on lead vocals. The session was produced by Ivy Jo Hunter. The track sat in Motown’s vaults from the late 1960s and surfaced later as a deep-cut album and compilation selection. Its release highlighted Ruffin’s lesser-known Motown work beyond his hit singles. The song later circulated on Motown anthologies and became part of the label’s archival catalog. Its durability also comes from the fact that Motown recorded multiple versions of the song, keeping it in the company’s deeper soul canon.
