Never Stop Praise Jah

Never Stop Praise Jah

Dubateers · 2007
Recording

The track began from a conversation between Singer Blue and Nick Dubateers about keeping Jah-centered belief in the music, then became a Dubateers version voiced by Singer Blue. It was developed through the Dubateers’ early Southend and Conscious Sounds studio network with Nick Dubateers working closely with Dougie Wardrop. Released in 2007 on the Dubateers 10-inch Never Stop Praise Jah Jah / Show Dem, the track became one of the group’s early anthem releases. It helped define the Dubateers’ mid-2000s UK digital sound-system style, adding vocal cuts to hard steppers riddims. The track remains one of the Dubateers’ best-known early pieces and was later included in the A Decade of Dub 2005-2015 catalogue. It is cited by the group as part of the foundation that brought new listeners into the UK dub scene.
