Recording

Recorded by The Explosions for their sole self-titled album, released during the early 1970s wave of independent American funk. The track featured the band's raw rhythm section, horn arrangements and extended instrumental interplay characteristic of regional funk recordings of the period. The recording stood out as one of the strongest cuts on a little-known private-press funk album. Although it received little commercial exposure, it developed a reputation among collectors for its heavy groove and distinctive arrangement. The track became a prized rare-groove recording and later attracted attention from DJs, crate diggers and sample-based producers. Its rediscovery helped elevate The Explosions from obscurity to cult status among funk enthusiasts.
