Everybody Wants to Rule The World (Remix)

Everybody Wants to Rule The World (Remix)

Tears for Fears · 1985
Recording

The remix was built from Tears for Fears’ 1984 recordings of the song made at The Wool Hall in Beckington, Somerset, for Songs from the Big Chair. It is credited to the original production team led by Chris Hughes, with Roland Orzabal, Ian Stanley, Curt Smith, Neil Taylor, and David Bascombe in the record’s credited personnel. This Urban Mix kept the band’s breakout single in circulation on the 12-inch market in 1985, issued by Mercury as part of the song’s single campaign. The remix version extended one of the defining pop hits of the decade without changing its core chart-era identity. The mix remains part of the song’s long afterlife through later reissues and digital catalog editions. It preserves the single’s club-facing presentation and continues to circulate alongside the original hit version.
