Anyone Else

Written and produced by ELIZA with longtime collaborator Finlay "Phairo" Robson, the song had been completed several years before its release and before the album The Darkening Green was issued. Finlay Robson played guitar, bass, drums and synth, Shaan Ramaprasad contributed strings, and Matt Colton mastered the recording. "Anyone Else" marked ELIZA's return with her first solo single in two years and introduced the material that became The Darkening Green. Contemporary coverage highlighted its stripped-back production and unusually direct expression of romantic commitment. The song became the second track on The Darkening Green when the album arrived in 2026. Subsequent album reviews singled it out among the record's standout songs.
