Suicide · 1980
Recording

Alan Vega and Martin Rev recorded the track in January 1980 at Power Station in New York, with Ric Ocasek producing. Rev developed the electronic backing with Ocasek while Vega concentrated on vocals; Denis Blackham later remastered the recording for the 2022 collection Surrender. Opening Suicide's second album, the track introduced a more polished presentation of the duo's sound. Its lyrics explored nightlife decadence, reflecting their fascination with glamour and luxury. Primal Scream covered the song in 2008, demonstrating its appeal to a later generation of musicians. Its inclusion on Surrender placed it among the recordings selected to represent Suicide's career.
