I Want You

Produced by English DJ and producer Chris Lake (born 8 August 1982), the track was released on Skrillex's OWSLA label as the lead single from the HOWSLA compilation, a house-focused project co-curated by Lake and Skrillex that reached number one on the iTunes Electronic chart upon its May 2017 release. Billboard ran an exclusive feature in which Lake described the track as a continuation of the space-warehouse energy of his prior hit "Operator," with Skrillex calling it part of OWSLA's mission to champion the artists shaping the future of house music in America. A remix package followed featuring reworkings from Mr. Oizo, DJ Sliink, 1991, and QUIX, alongside a summer-long HOWSLA residency at Hollywood's Le Jardin. The track marked the beginning of Chris Lake's most commercially successful era, leading directly to the formation of his own Black Book Records label later in 2017 and a run of hits including "Turn Off the Lights" and "Deceiver" that established him as one of the dominant forces in American bass house. Beatport included it in their Best Of Classics: Bass House editorial selection.
