You Give Me Something

Recorded at Chillington Studios in Buckinghamshire for Jamiroquai's 2001 album A Funk Odyssey, with Jay Kay on vocals, Rob Harris on guitar, Nick Fyffe on bass, Toby Smith on keyboards, Derrick McKenzie on drums, and Sola Akingbola on percussion. The song was written by Jay Kay, Rob Harris, and Nick Fyffe, and produced by Rick Pope. Released by Sony Soho Square in 2001, You Give Me Something was the second single from A Funk Odyssey. It reached number 16 on the UK Singles Chart and became the group's first single issued in DVD single format. The track remains a key single from Jamiroquai's early 2000s period, linking the band's live rhythm-section sound with the sleeker production of A Funk Odyssey. Its club remixes by Full Intention, Blacksmith, Cosmos, and King Unique helped extend the single beyond the album version.
