Never Be Like You

An official Disclosure remix of Flume and Kai’s “Never Be Like You,” released by Flume on March 4, 2016 through Future Classic. The original song was from the Skin era, and the remix followed Disclosure’s earlier Flume remix exchange on “You & Me.” The remix arrived while “Never Be Like You” was becoming one of Flume’s defining 2016 singles, and it was issued as an official companion version rather than an unofficial club edit. It also helped spotlight the friendly remix swap between Flume and Disclosure that music coverage noted at the time. The remix remained part of Flume’s catalog on streaming and Bandcamp, and it later turned up on club-oriented compilations such as Ministry of Sound’s Ibiza Sessions 2016. Its association with both Flume and Disclosure kept it in circulation among fans of both artists’ remix work.
