Pac Jam

Pac Jam

Jonzun Crew · —
Recording

Developed in Boston by Michael Jonzun and Maurice Starr, the track began as Pac Man on Boston International Records before Tommy Boy reworked and released it as Pack Jam. The Lost In Space album version was recorded at Boston International Recorders with additional work at Unique Recording in New York and a remix by John Jellybean Benitez. Released in 1982, the single brought the Jonzun Crew to Tommy Boy and helped establish the labels early electro catalogue before the groups debut album. It became one of the crews signature records and a highlight of the Lost In Space era. The record remains a foundational early electro track and a key example of Boston electro entering the New York street music market. It has continued through Tommy Boy reissues, Grooverider remixes and later electro retrospectives.
