I Need U

Produced by New York City-based DJ and producer Eli Escobar, the track is the second cut from his album Happiness, released on Luke Solomon's Classic Music Company in September 2016. Decoded Magazine described the track as a close descendant of Mood II Swing's "Do It Your Way," while Defected — who hosted the album announcement — positioned Escobar as a torch bearer for a new generation of underground dance acts. The album's release was accompanied by appearances at Glitterbox, Defected Croatia, and Ministry of Sound across the summer of 2016. The track accumulated over 230,000 Spotify streams and became one of Escobar's five most-played recordings on the platform, contributing to the momentum that led to his subsequent albums Shout and a prolific run of singles through the 2020s that cemented his status as one of New York's most consistent house music voices.
