Travelin' Light
J.J. Cale · —Recording
Recorded in 1976 during the sessions for Troubadour, with J.J. Cale handling vocals, guitar and keyboards alongside Nashville session musicians. Audie Ashworth produced the recording. Released as the first single from Troubadour, the track showcased Cale's understated groove through clipped guitar, percussion and vibraphone-like accents. It became one of the album's best-known songs despite not entering the major national singles charts. The song gained wider recognition through later recordings by Widespread Panic and Eric Clapton. Cale's version was also used as wake-up music for the Space Shuttle Atlantis crew in 2010.
