Sticky Hulks

Sticky Hulks

Thee Oh Sees · —
Recording

Recorded and mixed at The Dock in Sacramento during the sessions for Mutilator Defeated at Last, with John Dwyer joined by Tim Hellman, Nick Murray, Chris Woodhouse, and Brigid Dawson. Chris Woodhouse recorded and mixed the album, and John Golden mastered it. Released by Castle Face in 2015, Sticky Hulks appeared on Mutilator Defeated at Last during Thee Oh Sees' post-hiatus lineup shift. The album was widely reviewed as a strong return that tightened the band's live intensity into a more polished studio form. Sticky Hulks remains one of the longer and more atmospheric tracks from Mutilator Defeated at Last. It stands as part of the record that bridged Thee Oh Sees' earlier San Francisco period with the heavier Osees work that followed.
