It's All Right Now (LP Version)
Eddie Harris · 1976Recorded in 1975 at The Village Recorder in Los Angeles, It's All Right Now featured Eddie Harris on electric piano and lead vocals, Ronald Muldrow on guitar, Bradley Bobo on six-string bass, Paul Humphrey on drums, Bob Ramey on synthesizer, Buck Clarke on bongos and Calvin Barnes on percussion. Harris produced the recording, with Bruce Swedien handling recording and mixing and Lee Miller credited as assistant engineer. Opening Harris's album That Is Why You're Overweight, It's All Right Now combined a repetitive instrumental groove, group vocals and electronic keyboard textures. The recording demonstrated Harris's distinctive approach to composition and production during a period when he increasingly incorporated popular rhythmic styles into his work. It's All Right Now remains a distinctive recording from Eddie Harris's experimental mid-1970s period, particularly recognised for its repetitive groove and vocal arrangement. Its continued availability through Atlantic Records reissues and digital releases has preserved an example of Harris's work beyond his better-known saxophone performances.
