Terms.
01Who we are
Mix Studio is made by MIXUDG LTD (“MIXUDG”, “we”, “us”), 42 Bluebell Close, Kingsnorth, Ashford, Kent, TN23 3NG, a company registered in England and Wales, number 17515725. You can reach us at hello@mixudg.com.
02These terms and Apple's licence
Your licence to use Mix Studio is Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the “Apple licence”). These terms add to it. If the two ever conflict, the Apple licence wins. By downloading or using the app, you agree to both. Apple is not responsible for the app or these terms, and we, not Apple, are responsible for the app and for dealing with any claims about it.
03What the app does
Mix Studio is for building, polishing and recording DJ mixes from your own audio files: you prepare tracks, make clips, arrange a mix, process the master output and export the finished show. It needs a Mac with Apple silicon running macOS 14 or later. Ask Mix Studio also needs macOS 26 or later, with Apple Intelligence turned on.
04Your music, and the law
Mix Studio comes with no music. Only import audio you own or have the right to use. A DJ mix is made of other people's recordings: publishing, broadcasting, streaming, selling or playing a mix in public usually needs licences (for example from PPL and PRS for Music) and the permission of whoever owns the music, and platforms have their own rules. Getting those is your responsibility.
05Tracklists and credits
Tracklists and chapter markers use the artist and title credits you enter. Check them yourself. They are a production record, not a certified licensing return, and they don't replace a broadcaster's own reporting.
06Check what you export
Tempo and beat detection, key detection, stem separation, Organise and the loudness buttons are aids that work from estimates. They can be wrong, and a mix that works on paper may not work by ear. Listen to your exported audio before you publish or share it, and keep your original tracks.
07Keep backups
Your projects live in folders you choose. Save as you work, and back up the whole project folder, not just its document. An export doesn't save later changes to your project.
08Ask Mix Studio
Ask Mix Studio answers from the app's built-in manual, using Apple's on-device model. Its answers can be incomplete or mistaken: check them against the manual. It gives instructions only; it can't change your project, record, export or contact anyone.
09Your hearing
Mixing means long listening sessions. Keep the volume at a safe level, especially on headphones, and take breaks.
10What's ours
The app, its design and its name belong to us. Mix Studio also includes open-source software, used under its own licences, which are listed and reproduced in full in the About Mix Studio window. As its licence requires, the source code of the LAME MP3 encoder comes with the app. Don't copy, sell, rent or reverse-engineer the app, except where the law or those licences allow you to.
11Using it fairly
Don't use the app to break the law or to infringe anyone's rights, including the rights in the music you use.
12Price, payment and refunds
The price is shown on the App Store and is paid to Apple, which handles payment and refunds. To ask for a refund, go to reportaproblem.apple.com. There are no in-app purchases or subscriptions.
13Your legal rights
If you are a consumer in the UK, the Consumer Rights Act 2015 says the app must be of satisfactory quality, fit for its purpose and as described. If it isn't, you're entitled to a repair or a replacement, or in some cases a refund or a price reduction. If the app damages your device or other digital content because we didn't use reasonable care and skill, we'll repair the damage or pay you compensation. Nothing in these terms affects these rights. Citizens Advice (citizensadvice.org.uk) can explain them.
14Our responsibility to you
We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. Loss or damage is foreseeable if it was obvious it would happen, or if we both knew it might happen when you got the app.
We are not responsible for loss or damage that wasn't foreseeable, or that was caused by something outside our control. Keeping backups of your projects and audio is up to you (part 07). If you use Mix Studio in a business, for example to make mixes for clients or for broadcast, we aren't responsible for loss of profit, business, revenue or opportunity.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn't allow us to exclude or limit.
15Updates, and if things stop
We may update the app to fix problems, improve it or keep it working with new versions of macOS. Some updates may be needed for the app to keep working. We'll keep Mix Studio working as described for as long as we offer it, but we can't promise it will run on every future device or system version.
You can stop using the app at any time by deleting it. If you seriously break these terms, your licence to use the app ends, as the Apple licence describes.
16Changes to these terms
We may change these terms, for example to reflect changes to the app or the law. We'll update the date at the top, and if a change matters to you, we'll mention it in the app's release notes on the App Store.
17The law, and getting in touch
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings in your own courts. If something goes wrong, please write to hello@mixudg.com first; we'll try to put it right.
How Mix Studio treats your information is in its Privacy notice.
