01The short version
Mix Studio collects no information about you and doesn't connect to the internet. Your audio, your projects, your recordings and your exports stay on your Mac, in places you choose. There are no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. Nothing you do in the app is sent to us.
02Who we are
Mix Studio is made by MIXUDG LTD (“MIXUDG”, “we”, “us”), 42 Bluebell Close, Kingsnorth, Ashford, Kent, TN23 3NG, a company registered in England and Wales, number 17515725. We are the controller of any personal information described in this notice. You can reach us at hello@mixudg.com.
03No internet connection
Mix Studio works entirely on your Mac. It has no permission to connect to the internet, so it can't send anything anywhere, and everything in it works offline.
04Your audio and your projects
Mix Studio only opens the files and folders you choose. When you import audio, it copies it into your project's folder, so the original files stay as they are. The project folder also holds your recordings, the sections you cut, and the app's analysis of each track (its tempo, beats and key). A set you haven't saved yet is kept in the app's own folder on your Mac until you save it.
If the folders you use are backed up or synced, for example by Time Machine or iCloud Drive, that's between you and the service you use.
05Recording
With your permission, Mix Studio records from your Mac's microphone or another audio input, such as a USB audio interface. macOS calls this permission “Microphone” for every kind of input. The app only records when you press Record, and saves each take you keep as a WAV file in your project's folder. You can turn the permission off at any time in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone.
06Stem separation
When you split a track into drums, bass, vocals and other, the separation is done on your Mac by a model that comes with the app. The stems are saved with your project. Nothing is uploaded.
07Ask Mix Studio
Ask Mix Studio answers questions about using the app, on Macs where Apple Intelligence is available and turned on. Your question, your previous question and answer, and passages from the app's built-in manual are given to Apple's on-device model, which runs on your Mac. Your project and your audio are not. The conversation is kept only while the window is open, and Clear removes it.
08Exports and tracklists
Exported mixes, tracklists and chapter markers are saved where you choose. Tracklists and chapters contain the artist and title credits you enter.
09Settings
The app remembers your recent projects, your audio devices and your display preferences, in its settings on your Mac.
10Information Apple shares with developers
Apple handles your purchase and download of the app. If you have chosen in your device's settings to share analytics with app developers, Apple may give us crash reports and statistics about how the app performs. These come from Apple, not from the app, and Apple gives them to us in a form that doesn't identify you. We use them only to fix problems.
11If you contact us
If you email us, we receive your email address, your name if you include it, and whatever you write. We use it only to reply and to help you. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering you. We keep the conversation for up to two years after it ends, then delete it, unless the law requires us to keep it longer. Our email is provided by a mail service that may store messages on servers outside the UK; where it does, they are protected by the safeguards UK data protection law requires.
12What we don't do
We don't sell or share information about you, use it for advertising, or track you across other companies' apps or websites. The app has no accounts, no sign-in and no in-app purchases.
13Children
The app isn't aimed at children and collects nothing from anyone, whatever their age. If a child under 13 has emailed us, a parent or guardian can ask us to delete that email.
14Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to have it moved to another service. Because the app sends us nothing, the only information we could hold about you is an email you've sent us. To use any of these rights, write to hello@mixudg.com. We'll reply within one month.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please tell us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint, or 0303 123 1113.
15Changes to this notice
If the app starts handling information differently, we'll update this notice and the date at the top before the new version reaches the App Store. The terms for using the app are in the Mix Studio Terms.
