Calabi is a music toy you can see: rooms of impossible shapes from mathematics, each moving to its own house track that you can play. If something isn't working, the usual causes are below. If yours isn't, email hello@mixudg.com and we'll reply as soon as we can.

How to play

Common questions

I can't hear anything

Check the volume and the ring/silent switch, and that the sound isn't playing to headphones or a speaker you've forgotten about. In the sound settings, make sure Volume isn't at the bottom, and in the mixer that nothing you want to hear is muted — every track opens on its drums and bass, with the other parts waiting to be brought in.

Where did my recording go?

Recordings are saved to your Photos library, in an album called Calabi. If the app couldn't save, it's usually because photo access was turned off: in Settings, find Calabi, tap Photos, and allow it to add photos.

How do I show Calabi on a TV or projector?

Connect your iPad or iPhone with a cable or adapter that carries video, such as USB-C to HDMI — most charging cables don't. Open a room and the picture fills the screen at the screen's own resolution, while the controls stay on your device.

A room is running slowly or the device is warm

Some rooms draw a great deal every frame. Calabi lowers its own drawing resolution a little on devices that need it, and lowering a room's detail settings lightens the load further. Warmth during long sessions is normal.

How do I delete my tracks and settings?

Tap the ⓘ on the home screen, then Your data: you can delete all your tracks or reset every room from there. Deleting the app removes everything; your recordings stay in Photos until you delete them.

Flashing and photosensitivity

Please read the warning the app shows at launch. If you have epilepsy or have had a seizure, talk to your doctor before using the app. The full safety notes are in the terms.

Refunds

Calabi is bought once, from the App Store — there is no subscription and nothing to buy inside the app. Apple handles all payments and refunds. Ask Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com; we never see your payment details, so we can't refund you ourselves.

Privacy

Calabi collects nothing about you. The full policy is at mixudg.com/calabi/privacy.
