The New Dance
AM/FM · 2012Recording
The track appears as the Familiar Faces cut on Joey Negro’s 2012 Go-Go Get Down compilation of Washington, D.C. go-go sides. The compilation was assembled and compiled by David Lee under the Z Records banner. The track helped document go-go for an international audience at a time when the style was still largely known through its Washington, D.C. scene. Its placement on a well-curated compilation gave the song renewed visibility beyond its local origins. The track remains part of the go-go archive that later compilations and DJs used to present the genre’s history. It continues to circulate among collectors and diggers as a representative example of the scene’s club-oriented sound.
